IDK #358

IDK #358 makes me smile… Why not use the text lingo for “I don’t know” instead of the boring “untitled” when I don’t know what to call something?  Or, even what it is.  An alien ghost queen with her little prince?  This started with a watercolor under painting on heavy, slightly textured paper.  I like to tint textured papers as it throws color down in the nooks and crannies so there are no tiny little white dots when pencil points glide on top.  Then, when I start to color with the pencils, I just play with what’s there.

Actual size is 2.5 x 3.5 inches.  The image is a photograph, so if you click on it to zoom it up, it will be much larger than actual size.

Thank you for viewing my art today!

A #357: Pondering Possibilities

About time I posted again… summer is here and I haven’t felt like blogging.  Haven’t felt like drawing much either.  It was so humid, the heavy cotton paper absorbed moisture from the air and my heavy hand with the pencil points returned an embossed effect, which some would say is a “bad” thing (only if you belong to the keep the paper perfectly smooth club) but I kind of liked giving it some texture.

I gave up trying to scan art, opted to just photograph instead and leave a bit of “edge” around it as I tend to photograph rectangles as trapezoids and cropping to the edge tends to cut off something.  This is also displayed smaller than actual size of 2.5 x 3.5 inches, unless you click to zoom it up and then it is much larger than actual size.  But, does it really matter?  I could spend hours being so anal and it is just a waste of time.  I still want to complete the 1000 pieces. Although I pitter out now and then, opting to make larger size art, this size still appeals to me.

I should change the name of this blog from BeesATC to BeesACEO as I am seriously thinking of trying to sell art in this size again.   Right now, I’m debating between Ebay, Etsy, and Artfire.   Also thinking of selling other handmade things online, beaded jewelry and such… I’m kind of leaning towards Artfire because it is a flat rate site, one monthly fee plus, of course, payment transaction fees for PayPal whereas the other two charge listing fees and selling fees and all those little fees can add up to selling at a loss if low priced items are relisted several times before selling.  Another perk about Artfire is that anyone can shop there… buyers do not have to sign up or join anything.   To shop on Ebay, you have to be a member of Ebay.  I think Etsy requires membership, too.  It’s been so many years since I sold online, I don’t remember.

I don’t know… it is just one of those days when I’m pondering possibilities.

Any suggestions?

By the way, if you are on Facebook, I have a new page just for my art and handmade things… it’s called Barnes Artsy Things   (that link should take you there, if you want to check it out.)  Please keep in mind that it is “new” so there is not much there yet.   Thanks for viewing my art today!
